Eagles of Death Metal, The Virginmarys & Jackson...
There is always a happy atmosphere around Eagles of Death Metal shows, and the gig at the Angel Academy (as the o2 in Islington is known to locals and regulars) was no exception. All the early queuers were given free alcohol before the show by frontman Jesse Hughes and his girlfriend Tuesday, and although I’m aware (and I’m sure many readers are aware too) that bands are given lots & lots of...

The Darkness - Hot Cakes
After a triumphant return at last years Download Festival, The Darkness certainly proved they still had the ability to give a strong and charismatic performance. With the original quartet back together after past squabbles, they put that aside and headed back to the studio. Do they still have the magic ingredient that made them special? Opener Every Inch Of You doesn’t have the hard...

Mia Klose - London
This is an album i’ve been waiting for for a while now. Having found Mia Klose’s music a while ago via twitter i was instantly a fan and found it very exciting to have a new female to shout about in the rock world.  From the get go, you can immediately hear that this is a great rock record, full of attitude, sass and a great vocal from Mia. It transports you back to the 80s in a...

Dead Echoes - Daybreak
If you are looking for an exciting new band, then look no further than Dead Echoes from Edinburgh! Dead Echoes have recently released their debut ep “Daybreak” independently. Turbonegro - Sexual Harassment
Extravagant, trashy and punk; words that all spring to mind when describing Norwegian 5 piece Turbonegro. After battling several line up changes and drug addiction they have produced their first studio album in 5 years. The biggest change coming from departure of vocalist Hank Von Helvete in 2010 bringing in long term fan Tony Sylvester. The riffs of opener I Got A Knife and follow up Hello...
