Metal group Slipknot have joined fellow acts Iron Maiden and Rammstein to complete the line up of main stage headliners for next year. They last headlined the festival in 2009 before the tragic death of bassist Paul Gray. Of the announcements, the Clown states:

“We are extremely honoured to have been asked once again to headline the Download Festival. It’s always good to have the church of the Knot, the alter of the Knot, giving the sermon of the Knot to the congregation of the Knot, the culture of the Knot”

Tickets are on general sale from 9am tomorrow morning with the festival taking place between 14-16th June next year.
