There is a real buzz about Aerosmith at the moment. Back in the limelight with a new album on the way, Music From Another Dimension! due for release in November, a great new track which we premièred a few days ago and the band back on tope for, what is not to be celebrated!

Best of British!

After a such a successful Olympics we are feeling very patriotic and created a little best of British playlist for the closing day. We could have had a list as tall as Big Ben, but have condensed it down to fit your afternoon!

Its set to be another typically British celebration with tonight’s closing ceremony and The Who set to headline!

Get the British flag out and join the fun!

Rebel Rebel!

Remember back to a time when music was fun? When boys looked like girls and girls looked like boys? When shiny clothing, platform boots and Ziggy Stardust adorned every teenage girls wall? Yes, the Seventies people, and more specifically the glam rock era.

Rock and roll and magical bands, all tainted with a little bit of glitter and lipstick! The boys were pretty and the girls were badass and here is or little collection of some of our favourite tracks from the era that sparkled!

Give it a spin right here!

Punk!

Nevermind the Jubilee, here’s our punk playlist. Turn it up, turn it up loud and bring a touch of rebellion to your street party!

RIP MCA!

R.I.P. Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys

The very sad news was announced yesterday that The Beastie Boys Adam Yauch aka MCA lost his battle with cancer aged 47.

Yauch co-founded the group in 1979 along with “Mike D” Diamond and Adam “Ad-Rock” Horowitz. Their music was an innovative hybrid of hardcore punk and hip-hop. Albums like Licensed to Ill, Paul’s Boutique, Check Your Head and Hello Nasty cemented their place among the most popular acts of the last 25 years.

The Beastie Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last month, but Yauch was unable to attend, and his band mates declined to perform without him. The band had also cancelled a tour and delayed the release of their album Hot Sauce Committee while Yauch fought the disease.

In tribute we put together a little playlist of The Beastie Boys greatest hits. Click on the heading and turn it up people, turn it up loud!
